JPFO ALERT: THE _REAL_ DANGER TO JEWISH PEOPLE
      (IT MAY BE OTHER JEWS!)

Quick - in 10 seconds, name the top three real dangers to
Jewish people in the world.

Time's up.  Chances are you identified one or more of these
true threats to Jews:  Palestinian terror bombers, growing
violent anti-Semitism in Europe, and radical segments of
the Arab/Muslim world.

Did you even for a moment consider "American Christians" as
a primary danger to Jews?  JPFO would never even imagine
it.

Leave it to Abe Foxman, national director of the Anti-
Defamation League (ADL), to lash out against evangelical
Christians in America.  That's right - Foxman is raising
money from his loyal supporters on the pretext that such
Christians pose a serious threat to American Jews.

Unsurprisingly, Foxman and the ADL are strongly anti-
rights, and support the most prohibitive of "gun control"
regimes.  The ADL routinely aligns itself with the heavily
statist, socialist, big government forces on the political
Left.  It is the political Left that screams to have the
Jewish Ten Commandments removed from every public place in
America. It is the Left that today most vocally attacks
Israel, the only state in the Middle East that is
democratic, and the only state in the world that is openly
Jewish.

Meanwhile, evangelical Christians in America tend to be
pro-rights, pro-Constitution, pro-Ten Commandments, and
pro-self defense.  Evangelical Christians overwhelmingly
support Israel's right to exist, and they frequently reach
out to support Jews in America and other nations.

So why does it make sense for the self-described Jewish ADL
to attack the strongly pro-Israel and pro-Jewish group in
America?  Why does it make sense for the ADL to align with
the Left that hates Israel while sympathizing with homicide
bombers?

We at JPFO suggest these answers. 

Fundamentally, Foxman and the ADL are statist socialists
first and foremost, Americans a distant second, and Jewish
dead last.  By contrast, evangelical Christianity tends to
favor Biblical values which include ideas of limited
government, individual freedom, and personal and family
responsibility.  Evangelical Christians lean strongly
toward loving American values and traditions.

Morally, Foxman and the ADL are cowardly.  If they attack
American Christians, the Christians will respond by writing
letters and speaking out -- at most.  If Foxman and the ADL
attack radical Muslims or European anti-Semites, the
responses very likely might be assassinations and bombings
that kill Jews and others.  So, Foxman and the ADL shoot at
friendlies instead of real enemies, knowing the friendlies
won't shoot back.

Financially, Foxman and the ADL are raising money from
their usual supporters.  They need only to ring out "the
Christians are coming" and their captive sheep send in
thousands of dollars.   Compare that despicable hate-
mongering to the fact that mainstream evangelical
Christians never raise money by generating fear of Jews.

Thoughtful Americans, whether Jewish, Christian, or non-
religious, can see Foxman's cynical, cowardly, hateful
jihad for what it is.

A confidential memo circulating among senior Republican leaders suggests that a new attack by terrorists on U.S. soil could reverse the sagging fortunes of President George W. Bush as well as the GOP and "restore his image as a leader of the American people."

The closely-guarded memo lays out a list of scenarios to bring the Republican party back from the political brink, including a devastating attack by terrorists that could “validate” the President’s war on terror and allow Bush to “unite the country” in a “time of national shock and sorrow.”

The memo says such a reversal in the President's fortunes could keep the party from losing control of Congress in the 2006 midterm elections.

GOP insiders who have seen the memo admit it’s a risky strategy and point out that such scenarios are “blue sky thinking” that often occurs in political planning sessions.

“The President’s popularity was at an all-time high following the 9/11 attacks,” admits one aide. “Americans band together at a time of crisis.”

Other Republicans, however, worry that such a scenario carries high risk, pointing out that an attack might suggest the President has not done enough to protect the country.

“We also have to face the fact that many Americans no longer trust the President,” says a longtime GOP strategist. “That makes it harder for him to become a rallying point.”

The memo outlines other scenarios, including:

--Capture of Osama bin Laden (or proof that he is dead);

--A drastic turnaround in the economy;

--A "successful resolution" of the Iraq war.

GOP memos no longer talk of “victory” in Iraq but use the term “successful resolution.”

“A successful resolution would be us getting out intact and civil war not breaking out until after the midterm elections,” says one insider.

The memo circulates as Tuesday’s disastrous election defeats have left an already dysfunctional White House in chaos, West Wing insiders say, with shouting matches commonplace and the blame game escalating into open warfare.

“This place is like a high-school football locker room after the team lost the big game,” grumbles one Bush administration aide. “Everybody’s pissed and pointing the finger at blame at everybody else.”

Republican gubernatorial losses in Virginia and New Jersey deepened rifts between the Bush administration and Republicans who find the President radioactive. Arguments over whether or not the President should make a last-minute appearance in Virginia to try and help the sagging campaign fortunes of GOP candidate Jerry Kilgore raged until the minute Bush arrived at the rally in Richmond Monday night.

“Cooler heads tried to prevail,” one aide says. “Most knew an appearance by the President would hurt Kilgore rather than help him but (Karl) Rove rammed it through, convincing Bush that he had enough popularity left to make a difference.”

Bush didn’t have any popularity left. Overnight tracking polls showed Kilgore dropped three percentage points after the President’s appearance and Democrat Tim Kaine won on Tuesday.

Conservative Pennsylvania Republican Senator Rick Santorum told radio talk show host Don Imus Wednesday that he does not want the President's help and will stay away from a Bush rally in his state on Friday.

The losses in Virginia and New Jersey, coupled with a resounding defeat of ballot initiatives backed by GOP governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in California have set off alarm klaxons throughout the demoralized Republican party. Pollsters privately tell GOP leaders that unless they stop the slide they could easily lose control of the House in the 2006 midterm elections and may lose the Senate as well.

“In 30 years of sampling public opinion, I’ve never seen such a freefall in public support,” admits one GOP pollster.

Democratic pollster Geoffrey Garin says the usual tricks tried by Republicans no longer work.

"None of their old tricks worked," he says.

Rep. Thomas M. Davis III (R-Va.) admits the GOP is a party mired in its rural base in a country that's becoming less and less rural.

"You play to your rural base, you pay a price," he says. "Our issues blew up in our face."

As Republican political strategists scramble to find a message – any message – that will ring true with voters, GOP leaders in Congress admit privately that control of their party by right-wing extremists makes their recovery all but impossible.

“We’ve made our bed with these people,” admits an aide to House Speaker Denny Hastert. “Now it’s the morning after and the hangover hurts like hell.”

MAJOR DEVELOPMENT IN THE FIGHT FOR OUR RIGHTS

We're proud to announce a major breakthrough in the long
battle to curb the abuses of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco,
Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

The Congressional Research Service (CRS), an arm of the U.S.
Congress, has issued a memo telling the world what we've
always said (http://www.jpfo.org/batfearticles.htm): that
ATF "experts" use arbitrary, made-up standards when they
bring charges against gun owners and testify against us in
court.

Read it carefully. Notice something important. Although the
CRS did an investigation of its own, it relied heavily on
information that came straight from gun-maker Len Savage and
JPFO.

THIS REPORT ALMOST GOT BURIED!

Although JPFO does not lobby Congress or urge anyone else
to, JPFO's work and Len's was instrumental in bringing this
report into the world. We're proud of that fact.

But YOUR work was instrumental, too, if you were one of the
many Americans who asked their representatives to get a copy
of the ATF's testing procedures manual.

No such ATF manual exists. One after one, at gun owners'
urging, congressmen asked the CRS to get the manual. The CRS
asked the ATF to produce the manual. And they hit a wall.

Then something ominous happened. For several weeks, the CRS,
urged on by a frantic Justice Department, planned to bury
this information.

Why? Because these revelations could potentially overturn
hundreds, even thousands, of criminal prosecutions of
innocent gun owners, going back decades.

But YOU kept pushing. And you did it on your own.

Finally the CRS had no choice but to reveal the truth: the
ATF simply "makes it up as they go along."

WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS

The CRS memo changes nothing by itself. It has no legal
force. But it is the first light Congress has shone on the
ATF in 23 years. It is a _beginning_. It is a tool concerned
gun owners -- and defense attorneys -- can use.

It's also a demonstration of the truth of two well-known
quotations about the power of the grassroots.

Now, what the future holds is, in part, up to you. Take action!

1) READ the CRS report.

2) SHARE IT. Circulate the link to it on email lists. Post
the link on your blog. Let the world know. Think of two
dozen -- or a hundred -- friends who need to see the report
and share it with them.

3) ASK QUESTIONS. "How can I get more gun-rights groups
involved in this?" "When is Congress going to curb the ATF?"
"What can I do about it?" "What should ALL gun owners do
about it?" "What can defense lawyers do with this report?"
"Do I know any lawyers or abused gun owners who should get a
copy of this?"

4) BUILD FORCES to demand that this report be acted upon and
not ignored.

The CRS report isn't dramatic. The language is calm and
legalistic. It has no force in law. The drama comes when
this report inspires OUTRAGE and ACTION.

Thanks to Len Savage, JPFO, and a few hundred gun owners,
you now have proof that backs what abused gun owners have
been shouting all these years.

Now ... run with it.

If American gun owners take this memo and demand action upon
it, this little report will be bigger than the recent
pro-gun vote in Brazil, bigger than forcing FEMA to allow
firearms into refugee settlements. This has the potential to
lead to the dismantling of one of the worst agencies of the
federal government.

Even if it doesn't lead to the end of the ATF, it could
still stop the ruin of thousands of gun owners' lives and
the abuse of millions of gun owners' rights.

In a corollary to Everett Dirksen's famous remark, we always
say "Attack their pension to get their attention." ATF
agents are just working men and women who want to make a
living and retire comfortably. Threatening their security is
the best way to force them to behave.

And make no mistake. Despite the polite language, the
revelations in this report are a major threat to ATF power.

Now ... our next step is to make sure the nobody tolerates
ATF abuses. We must keep the light shining on the CRS report
until every defense lawyer, judge, and leader in the land is
aware of it.

Then we must absolutely refuse to tolerate anyone who
tolerates ATF abuses.

Finally, after decades, WE, the American gun owners, are in
a position to take initiative and control.

ATF get away with its abuses when the power to stop them has

"Police Begin Seizing Guns of Civilians - Local police
officers began confiscating weapons from civilians in
preparation for a forced evacuation of the last
holdouts..."

It sounds like a headline from _Unintended Consequences_.
But it's happening now -- today -- in New Orleans.  Law
enforcement officials are confiscating the legally-owned
firearms from law-abiding citizens without due process,
without warrants, and without cause, leaving their owners
utterly defenseless and at the mercy of looters and thugs.

According to an article in the New York Times
(http://tinyurl.com/9ot44), the police superintendent P.
Edwin Compass III decreed that no civilians in New Orleans
will be allowed to carry firearms of any kind, even if they
possess permits to do so. "Only law enforcement are allowed
to have weapons," he said.

(Well, not quite. The New Orleans police department will
not be confiscating the weapons of private security
personnel, guaranteeing that only those wealthy enough to
afford a private bodyguard can be assured of protection).

Second Amendment advocates have long warned that such
confiscations would undoubtedly occur in the event of major
catastrophe. That they were right is not a surprise. Sadly,
neither is the fact that few gun owners have resisted the
confiscations.

Over the years, Americans have become increasingly ignorant
about what rights they really have. Inalienable, individual
rights have given way to "junk rights" -- privileges to be
granted or withheld at the whim of the government. So if
the government demands that they give up their guns, it's
only natural that they should comply. Police officers and
soldiers who are confiscating the firearms are either
equally ignorant about citizens' rights ... or _simply
don't care_ about following unconstitutional orders.

Fifteen months ago, our brother and Medal of Honor winner, Mike Clausen was laid to rest in a common grave with no visible marker to honor his memory. See site address www.mikeclausen.com

But, as individual Marines [A FEW GOOD MEN], we can step up and lend a hand. BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Raymond M. Clausen Jr., a helicopter crewman in the Vietnam War who was awarded the Medal of Honor for rescuing fellow marines stranded in a minefield under enemy fire, died May 30, 2004 at a hospital in Dallas, Texas. At 56 years old, Mike Clausen, who lived in Ponchatoula, La., died of liver failure.


Mr. Clausen, a native of New Orleans, enlisted in the Marines in May 1966 after attending Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond.


On Jan. 31, 1970, Private First Class Clausen, assigned to Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 263 of the First Marine Air Wing, flew as crew chief on a mission to rescue marines who had inadvertently entered an area containing American-laid mines while pursuing enemy troops near Da Nang.


Private Clausen guided the pilot to a landing in a patch of tall grass cleared by one of several mine explosions. Twenty marines were nearby, 11 of them wounded, one already dead, and the other 8 in place, fearful of setting off additional mines if they moved.


Private Clausen disobeyed an order by the helicopter pilot to remain on the craft. "I told him, `No, sir, I'm going off the plane,' " he recalled in an interview with The Dallas Morning News last January.

He leaped from the helicopter, ignored the presence of hidden mines, picked up a wounded marine and carried him back to the craft. Several other marines followed his path to the helicopter, knowing it would be clear of the mines.


Private Clausen then directed the helicopter to another spot and resumed his rescue efforts. His citation said that despite the threat of further mine explosions, he made six trips out of the helicopter. On one of them, a mine detonated while he was carrying a wounded marine, killing another member of the stranded platoon and wounding three other men.


"Only when he was certain that all marines were safely aboard did he signal the pilot to lift the helicopter," his citation said.


President Richard M. Nixon presented Mr. Clausen with the Medal of Honor at the White House on June 15, 1971.


Soon after leaving military service in 1970, Mr. Clausen was in an auto accident that left him in a coma for several months and impaired his ability to work, The Times-Picayune of New Orleans reported. But he spoke often to veterans' organizations.


His wife, Lois, two brothers and a sister, survives Mr. Clausen.

The following email was sent from a Col. who is a surgeon stationed in Iraq. It was sent to his Dad who was a fighter pilot in Vietnam during the war. I'm seeking permission to put it on our website. Verified by Troy Watson.

Dear Dad,

If I ever hear airmen griping and complaining, I jump into them pretty quickly, now. Most people over here have nothing to gripe about compared to Marines. Marines are different. They have a different outlook on life.

One Marine Private was here for several days because he was a lower priority evacuation patient. He insisted on coming to attention and displaying proper military courtesy every morning when I came through on rounds. He was in a great deal of pain, and it was a stressful to watch him work his way off the bed and onto his crutches. I told him he was excused and did not have to come to attention while he was a patient, and he informed me that he was a good Marine and would address "Air Force Colonels standing on my feet, Sir." I had to turn away so he would not see the tear in my eye. He did not have "feet" because we amputated his right leg below the knee on the first night he came in.

I asked a Marine Lance Corporal if there was anything I could get him as I was making rounds one morning. He was an above the knee amputation after an IED blast, and he surprised me when he asked for a trigonometry book. "You enjoy math do you?" He replied, "Not particularly, Sir. I was never good at it, but I need to get good at it, now." "Are you planning on going back to school?" I asked. "No sir, I am planning on shooting artillery. I will slow an infantry platoon down with just one good leg, but I am going to get good at math and learn how to shoot artillery." I hope he does.

I had the sad duty of standing over a young Marine Sgt. when he recovered from anesthesia - despite our best efforts there was just no way to save his left arm, and it had to come off just below the elbow.

"Can I have my arm back, sir?" he asked.

"No, we had to cut it off, we cannot reattach it." I said.

"But can I have my arm?" he asked again.

"You see, we had to cut it off."

He interrupted, "I know you had to cut it off, but I want it back. It must be in a bag or something, Sir."

"Why do you want it?" I asked.

"I am going to have it stuffed and use it as a club when I get back to my unit." I must have looked shocked because he tried to comfort me, "Don't you worry now, Colonel. You did a fine job, and I hardly hurt at all; besides I scratch and shoot with my other hand anyway."

The Korean War, in which the Marine Corps fought and won some of its most brutal battles, was not without its gallows humor.

During one such conflict a ROK (Republic of Korea) commander, whose unit was fighting along with the Marines, called legendary Marine Chesty Puller to report a major Chinese attack in his sector.

"How many Chinese are attacking you?" asked Puller.

"Many, many Chinese!" replied the excited Korean officer.

Puller asked for another count and got the same answer "Many, many Chinese!"

"Goddammit!" swore Puller, "Put my Marine liaison officer on the radio."

In a minute, an American voice came over the air: "Yes sir?"

"Lieutenant," growled Chesty, "exactly how many Chinese you got up there?"

"Colonel, we got a whole shitload of Chinese up here!"

"Thank God," exclaimed Puller, "at least there's someone up there who knows how to count!"
